At dawn, Will glanced at Bellatrix, unconscious on the examination table. Instead of putting her back in her cell, he bundled her into the Book Trunk enchanted with an Undetectable Extension Charm.
Rubbing his head, Will returned to the Room of Requirement to catch up on sleep.
Students at Hogwarts usually relaxed during the week after exams while they waited for their results. Will normally eased up a little too.
But this year's post-exam week had been his busiest since enrolling.
It had also brought him his greatest rewards.
The next day, the O.W.L. results finally came out.
Sure enough, Will had earned an O (Outstanding) in all nine subjects.
Hermione had earned Os across the board too, though she had taken ten subjects. She had chosen Arithmancy in addition to Will's nine.
Sylvia had earned three Os: Potions, Defense Against the Dark Arts, and Charms.
Apart from Os in Charms and Defense Against the Dark Arts, Harry had received As (Acceptable) or Es (Exceeds Expectations).
Ron had done a little worse, with an O only in Defense Against the Dark Arts.
He looked even happier than Harry, though.
Snape required an O for admission to his advanced class, so Ron was delighted that he wouldn't have to take Snape's class next term.
Seamus, Thomas, Justin, and Terry Brown were just as happy as Neville.
They were all celebrating the fact that they wouldn't have to take Snape's class next term. None of them had earned an O, so none qualified for the advanced class.
Bad news might be everywhere beyond Hogwarts, but at least they had this to celebrate.
As for Harry... he already knew about the change in teaching assignments, so he couldn't share their joy.
Draco had done well in Herbology and Potions.
