The instant Scrimgeour "held hands" with the test subject, the curse began transferring to the subject's palm.

"It's highly invasive..." Will frowned in thought. "But why didn't it spread to the rest of your body? Is it because the curse transfers between different 'individuals'?"

Will did not dwell on it for long, however. He flicked his wand. "Sectumsempra!"

This was Sectumsempra imbued with Soul Annihilation, directly erasing the test subject's flesh, magical structure, and soul.

The subject's arm was severed at once. Blood sprayed out, only to be stopped in midair by an invisible barrier before it could spill onto the floor.

The subject remained motionless on the Experimental Table-still under the influence of the Imperius Curse.

"Mr. Behrens, what are you doing?" Scrimgeour stared blankly at the scene, seemingly unable to process it.

"Testing a wizard's ability to regenerate, and seeing whether I can transfer your curse," Will explained. "Some curses can be transferred. I wasn't sure whether yours was one of them.

"But after that experiment, I can confirm that this method won't work."

Voldemort's curse was indeed no ordinary curse, though Will had never expected to resolve it so easily.

Besides, Will had not held out much hope for wizards' regenerative abilities in the first place.

Moody's prosthetic leg, Wormtail's silver hand-and George's ear had not been regrown with potions after it was cut off, either.

All of these cases suggested that flesh was very difficult to regrow.

Standing beside the subject, Will pressed his wand against the stump of the severed arm. First, he used a counter-curse to remove the effects of Sectumsempra.

Then he gave the subject's wound some basic treatment.

Next, he tapped his wand lightly and cast the Bone-Growing Curse, guiding the bones of the subject's arm to regrow.
