"Will Behrens: A Biography"
Will took a glass of non-alcoholic Grape Juice and sat down to chat with Sanguini and Elder Worple.
Sylvia sat down to chat with a few girls, Luna became the focus of the day—the usually crazy girl was radiant today, and this contrast was the most attractive.
Slughorn's Yule Ball was more of a Christmas social gathering than a ball.
Through Slughorn, the group gets to know other people, and there is a high probability that new alliances of interest will be formed.
This is also one of the ways Slughorn maintains his position in the Wizarding World.
After all, the Wizarding World is still a society based on personal connections and acquaintances—since the founding of Hogwarts in the late 10th century, over 90% of England Wizard were Hogwarts alumni in their youth. How could it not become a society built on acquaintances?
With his outstanding talent, amazing knowledge, and humble character, Will quickly gained the friendship of Elder Worple and Sanguini.
Will became acquainted with Sherry and learned a lot about her.
In this world, Vampire are different from the "evil creatures" that lurk in the night in most legends.
In the Wizarding World, Vampire are classified as sentient humanoid Magical Creatures, and also belong to the category of "living dead".
They are typically pale, haggard, and emaciated, with sharp teeth in their mouths, and they have a habit of biting their throats to suck blood.
Vampire primarily feed on blood, but they can also eat regular food. They dislike garlic and will actively avoid it.
They are not so afraid of sunlight, nor of Cross, and have long lifespans, but they are not absolutely immortal.
The Ministry of Magic has a "Code of Conduct for Non-Wizard Half-Human Treatment," which prohibits the indiscriminate hunting of Vampire.
However, the Wizard community is divided on them: some want to tolerate them, while others advocate for their eradication. In some countries that do not protect Vampire, Wizard still act as Vampire hunters.
The Magic world also has Half-blood- Vampire, such as the singer Rocken Deiss, whose father is Vampire and mother is Wizard.
Herbert Vani, a historically famous Vampire, preyed on women in London during the 19th century. He was later hunted by Auror from the Ministry of Magic, Auror killed him during the capture process.
Will chatted with the Vampire named Sanguini for a while and learned that his life was no different from that of an ordinary Wizard: eating, sleeping, and going out to work.
At most, I'll occasionally buy some blood to drink to supplement my nutrition.
Compared to Werewolf, Vampire are in a much better position in the Wizarding World.
"Will, I'm so happy! Meeting you today is the greatest reward of my life," Worple said. "I was just talking about you with Professor Slughorn the other day, and he said you are the most outstanding academic genius at Hogwarts."
This has made me want to write a biography of Will the Biography of Behrens lately.
Seriously, Will, I was very willing to write this book—people crave to know more about you, Will, they really do!
If you can agree to a few of my interviews, each lasting four or five hours, then the book can be completed in a few months.
It won't take any effort on you, I guarantee it, and Blood Nicolas can vouch for my words.
The tall, thin, pale-skinned Vampire next to him took a meat pie from the plate of a passing House-elf carrying a tray, and nodded. "Indeed."
Having received Sanguini's affirmation, Worple's smile widened, "My dear child, you can't even imagine how much money you can make—"
Will raised his hand, Worple immediately shut his mouth—which surprised Worple himself, but Will possessed a rather strange sense of authority.
"Mr. Worple," Will said with a gentle smile, "I'm sorry, I don't have time for your interview."
My time is very limited, but I really hope someone can help me write my biography. If possible, you could talk to Professor Slughorn.
Write a draft and let me read it. If it's suitable, I'll publish it; if not, I'll make some minor revisions.
Of course, you can take 80% of the royalties, and donate the remaining 20% in my name; however, it must be for charitable purposes.
Worple paused for a moment, then his face broke into a wide smile.
"Eighty percent?!" Worple was initially a little reluctant, but upon hearing about the royalties, he almost jumped up on the spot. "Will, you are such a generous and kind Potions Master!"
May Merlin bless you!
"I did this because I don't want any inaccuracies to appear in my biography."
"Of course! Of course!" Worple nodded repeatedly. "I guarantee that every word and every letter will be reviewed by you!"
Sanguini, standing nearby, was taking big bites of his meat pie, quite surprised—he wasn't taking a single penny of the money from his biography, donating it all to charity. Was this still Slytherin?
Will smiled and looked at Sanguini. For some reason, Sanguini suddenly felt a chill run down her spine and shivered. "I need to go to the restroom."
Worple, looking excited, chatted with Will about many details. Seeing that Slughorn's people had left, he had some free time. "I'll go talk to Professor Slughorn about this and see what he has to say."
Will picked up the glass of Grape Juice, took a sip, and nodded. "Please, go ahead."
The two left, Will rested for a moment before heading to the dance floor.
On the dance floor, students gathered in twos and threes.
Harry was surrounded by several girls, his face flushed, and he was even stammering.
Harry cast a pleading look at Will, who was walking over, but Will ignored him—since Harry liked early romances, why didn't he just wait and see with all these girls around?
Anyway, Harry doesn't need to worry about taking down Voldemort.
Will pushed through the crowd, turned down several girls who wanted to dance with him, and headed straight for a corner.
In the corner, the two men looked nervous when they saw Will approaching.
"Draco, Astoria, why aren't you dancing?" Will casually pulled, and a ribbon transformed into a wooden chair, Will then sat down beside the two.
"Mr. Behrens," Astoria Greengrass said hastily, "Draco..."
Draco raised his hand. "I'll talk to Will alone, it'll be fine."
Astoria's gaze swept over the two of them again and again, as if she were still worried.
"Don't be nervous, would I kill Draco?" Will chuckled. "There's no need to worry about him so much."
Draco whispered a few more words to Astoria before she got up to leave, but her eyes remained fixed on them.
Will cast a Secrecy Charm to ensure that no one could overhear their conversation.
On the surface, they looked at each other with hostility, as if there was some conflict, but in reality, their conversation was quite harmonious.
"She brought you in?"
Astoria was also invited to the Slug Club, Draco was probably there as Astoria dance partner.
Draco nodded, acknowledging the matter. "Otherwise, given Professor Slughorn's attitude towards me, it would be a miracle if he didn't kick me out."
This position Head Boy is so uncomfortable for me; if I could, I really wouldn't want to do it anymore.
No Prefect currently treats me like the Head Boy.
Professor McGonagall entrusted the task of decorating Hogwarts for Christmas to me and Miss Granger, and asked us to lead the Prefect in the work, but none of Prefect listened to me.
Even worse, that Weasley guy kept mocking me.
Will chuckled – now Slughorn sees Draco like Snape sees Harry, he's bound to make things difficult for him.
Moreover, Will couldn't control the Prefect, and he couldn't very well stand up and say that Draco was one of his own.
He took a sip of Grape Juice: "Well, I have good news and bad news. Which do you want to hear?"
