"So what's so special about Jerry? How is he different from the other children?"
Grindelwald murmured the question. It was not only on his mind; it had been troubling Dumbledore too.
Dumbledore sat silently on a nearby rock, his gaze deep and troubled. He replayed every detail of his encounter and conversation with the Second Archbishop, Publius Maro.
"Albus, do you think what happened today could have been the Second Archbishop's doing...?" Grindelwald pointed the finger squarely at Publius Maro.
"I can't be sure." Dumbledore frowned. After a moment's thought, he sighed. "But even if Publius Maro wasn't involved, the Apostles can't be innocent. This must have been the work of someone inside their organization. Publius Maro practically told us the answer himself: it isn't that we're forbidden to intervene. We simply can't investigate from within the Apostles."
Dumbledore continued, "The biggest question is who that mysterious figure in black was. Someone with that kind of power couldn't be a nobody in the Wizarding World. Gellert, I even suspect he came from the Apostles, just like Publius Maro."
Grindelwald considered this, then nodded slightly. Dumbledore's suspicion matched his own.
"Enough. We'll leave it there for now. I need to hurry back to Hogwarts. After all, I haven't been fired yet!
"We can leave the rest to Publius Maro. He holds a high position, and he'll do everything he can to get to the bottom of what happened today, especially where the figure in black is concerned. I can't believe he'd tolerate a threat to himself within his own organization. For now, we just need to protect Jerry and see what happens.
"We may not be able to penetrate the heart of the Apostles Organization, but we can use the conflicts among its members to crack its shell!" Dumbledore said reassuringly.
