"Thanks for all your hard work lately," Jerry said with a smile, looking at Catherine beside him in her pajamas.
"It's my duty, Your Eminence. There's no need to thank me." Catherine shook her head gently, then glanced at the list in Jerry's hand. "Your Eminence, what would you like to do with these people?"
"My grandfather has an elite force the Fourth Archbishop left in his care—the Imperial Guard Enforcement Squad. It isn't large, but every member was chosen from the best of the Apostles after several rounds of selection. Those so-called Aurors are no match for them," Catherine continued. "Just give the word, Your Eminence, and I guarantee that these people and their families will never see another sunrise. The squad will erase them from this world without a sound."
The Fourth Archbishop was chosen in a way entirely unlike the other three archbishops.
The archbishops were the supreme rulers and decision-makers of the vast, mysterious organization known as the Apostles. Their authority and status were virtually absolute.
The first three archbishops inherited their positions through the Fawley, Maro, and Mammon families, respectively. The Fourth Archbishop's position, however, belonged to no family. It passed directly to the commander of the Imperial Guard Enforcement Squad. Every Fourth Archbishop had therefore been an exceptional and formidable fighter. Only someone who survived the squad's grueling selection could claim the seat; no mediocrity could ever hope to touch it.
