In the Hospital Wing, Goyle lay unconscious on a bed. Jerry, the one responsible for it all, lounged on another bed nearby, happily working his way through the snacks brought by students who had come to visit him.
Jerry had thought he was fine and didn't need to stay, but Professor McGonagall had insisted, leaving him no choice but to give in.
"Is Goyle going to be all right?" Hermione sat beside Jerry's bed, watching him pop yet another sweet into his mouth. At last, she couldn't help asking.
"Don't worry." Jerry tore open a bag of honey gummies and ate one. "Madam Pomfrey checked him. She said he's fine. A few days' rest in the Hospital Wing and he'll recover."
Jerry still had a bit of a grudge against Goyle.
Goyle, you overgrown idiot. Did you think I didn't hear you call me a freak when you whispered in Malfoy's ear during class? But with the black mist having nearly drained Goyle's mind and magic, Jerry decided to let the little matter go. He was famously kindhearted, after all.
"That's enough!" Hermione snatched the bag of gummies from Jerry's hand and frowned. "Jerry, you've eaten far too many sweets today. They're bad for your teeth!"
Jerry shrugged. Headmaster Dumbledore eats sweets every day at his age, and I don't see all his teeth falling out. But Hermione looked so serious that he didn't argue. He obediently nodded and promised to stop.
"By the way, Hermione, I want to ask you something." Jerry took the Quill from her and carefully drew the Mystic Symbol on a sheet of paper. "Have you seen this symbol anywhere?"
