Harry was taken from the Quidditch pitch to the Hospital Wing by the twins, while Professor Dumbledore wore a particularly dark expression. He looked furious.

Cedric Diggory sought out Wood and the referee, Madam Hooch. Although Cedric had caught the Golden Snitch, he felt there was little honour in this victory and hoped for a fair rematch.

"All students, return to the castle immediately!" Professor McGonagall announced loudly after some discussion, her voice carrying unquestionable authority.

"Jerry, thank you for what you did. Your spell saved Harry!" Dumbledore stopped Jerry as he was about to leave, his voice warm with gratitude.

"Harry's my friend. Of course I'd save him!" Jerry replied matter-of-factly, as though it went without saying. In truth, he knew perfectly well that even without his help, Dumbledore would never have let Harry hit the ground and turn into Harry jam.

"I'm very glad to hear you say that." Professor Dumbledore gave a soft sigh, then smiled in relief.

Jerry paid no mind to what the old man might be thinking. He took Hermione by the hand and left the Quidditch pitch.

In the Hogwarts Hospital Wing, Harry had regained consciousness and lay pale-faced in bed.

The members of the Gryffindor Quidditch Team crowded around his bedside, covered in mud from head to toe.

Ron and Neville were there too, both soaked through and looking bedraggled, as though they had just struggled out of an icy swimming pool.

Fred stood to one side, his face pale as he told Harry what had happened on the pitch after he passed out.

"Jerry, you saved me again!" Harry said, his eyes filled with sincere gratitude as he saw Jerry and Hermione enter the Hospital Wing. "I just wish I'd managed to catch the Golden Snitch."
