"How bad is it?" After Jerry and Catherine left, Narcissa returned to Lucius with Draco and questioned him anxiously.
"Dad, You-Know-Who... has he really come back?" Draco's voice was tight with fear.
"No, Draco. Don't worry. I was overthinking it." Lucius shook his head. "But he'll return someday, won't he?"
"What did Jerry Green say?" Narcissa frowned. She had seen Voldemort's power firsthand, and worry still filled her eyes. "Can they really handle him?"
"You're wrong, Narcissa. The force behind Fawley is deeply mysterious and incredibly powerful! Even the Ministry of Magic only discovered its existence in the last two years!"
"How is that possible? The Ministry of Magic just lets them operate?" Narcissa pressed.
Lucius nodded, his voice tinged with contempt. "Of course someone tried to stop them. Two years ago, a Congressman proposed investigating and controlling this unknown force in Parliament, but most of the other Congressmen strongly opposed him. The next day, the Congressman who had made the proposal was found dead at home. They called it suicide."
Narcissa's face darkened. She understood what her husband meant. They had people in Parliament, and in high places.
After the Leaving Feast, Jerry and Catherine left the bustling Great Hall and headed back to their suite to rest. That was when they noticed Alex Canterbury leaning against the wall by the entrance.
He was nearly two meters tall, towering over the crowd in their finery. His thick arms were wider than Jerry's thighs. What the hell kind of wizard was this? He could probably punch someone to death without using magic!
