Early the next morning, Harry hurried off to find Jerry.
"Did you see everything last night?" Jerry asked with a smile.
"Yes, I..." Harry looked a little uneasy and nodded. "Do we really have to face dragons in the first task of the Triwizard Tournament?"
Hermione, who had been listening beside them, was completely lost. Frowning, she turned to Jerry in confusion. "Dragons? What are you talking about? Has Hagrid been secretly raising dragons again?"
Harry hastily explained, his voice tinged with urgency. "No, Hermione. It's the first challenge in the Triwizard Tournament. We have to face dragons head-on!"
"Are you joking?" Hermione's eyes widened in disbelief. "Whatever kind of dragon it is, the magical resistance of its hide isn't something you can easily break through! Sending you up against dragons—how is that any different from suicide?"
"How could I possibly joke about something like this?" Harry said. "Those dragons are being kept in the Forbidden Forest, not far from Hagrid's Hut. I saw them clearly last night! Ron's brother Charlie was there too!"
"But I overheard Charlie talking to Hagrid. We only need to get past the dragons!"
"Jerry, did you already know?" Harry turned back to Jerry and pressed him.
"Originally, you and Cedric were the only ones being kept in the dark. Now, I'm afraid Cedric is the only one who still doesn't know," Jerry said, nodding with a smile.
"But didn't Mr. Crouch say last time that it was supposed to be kept secret? Why does everyone know now?" Harry couldn't make sense of it. "I even saw Karkaroff sneaking into the Forbidden Forest last night!"
Jerry smiled faintly, a knowing gleam passing through his eyes. For Beauxbatons and Durmstrang, winning this Triwizard Tournament was certainly important, but there was a deeper purpose: they all wanted
