"No, Ron, learning to use scuba gear isn't as easy as you think." Harry shook his head, looking troubled. "And it's far too much trouble to use!"
"The ideal solution would be to transform yourself into something, like a submarine or a creature that can move freely underwater," Hermione said after a moment's thought. "Unfortunately, we haven't covered advanced human Transfiguration yet. That doesn't come until sixth year. Trying it without proper training could have unpredictable consequences. It's too risky."
At the mention of human Transfiguration, Harry looked at Jerry.
"Forget it. You can't have Professor Moody turn you into a fish during the tournament! That would be against the rules." Jerry shook his head. "And becoming an Animagus is even more out of the question. There simply isn't enough time. If you're unlucky and don't get the right weather, you might not manage it for years! Even if you did, what if your Animagus form turned out to be an animal that couldn't swim at all?"
