Tom and the Mysterious Key had appeared the night before the Hogwarts term began. This time, the Wardrobe Trunk and the Ring had probably been sent by that same mysterious faction.
What role had the Matron played in all this? Was she still the Matron he had known as a child? Or had someone replaced her long ago?
They had put so much effort into him. What exactly were they after?
The more Jerry thought about it, the more agitated he became. After examining Tom once more, he tossed him aside, picked up the clothes beside the table, and headed for the bathroom.
If they wanted to play, Jerry would play along! He just hoped they wouldn't regret it later!
After Jerry finished bathing, Tom flew onto his shoulder, rubbed his head against him, and let out two aggrieved cries.
Jerry gently stroked Tom's head and said, "From now on, if you see anyone who's fed you before, fly over and perch on their shoulder. Understand?"
At Jerry's words, Tom let out another two cries of "Caw! Caw!" as though to show that he understood, then nuzzled Jerry again.
Jerry sighed, regretting that he couldn't communicate with Tom. When he transformed into a Patronus, he still spoke human language!
"Jerry, are you ready? Come downstairs for dinner!"
Hearing the Matron call, Jerry immediately resumed his usual expression and called back, "Coming!"
That night, Jerry sat at his desk, writing a letter to Dumbledore. He had a headache, unsure how to explain the changes in his appearance!
Even if he told him the truth, Dumbledore probably wouldn't believe him. After all, no one understood Grindelwald better than he did!
