Bang!

Outside the Headmaster's Office, Jerry stared at the closed door, baffled. Hadn't Dumbledore said he wanted a proper talk? Why had he thrown Jerry out after barely a few words?

Still, the night hadn't been a complete waste. Most important was the notebook in his hand. Jerry couldn't wait to see what magic it contained!

When he returned to the Slytherin Common Room, everyone was startled by how different he looked.

To everyone's surprise, Malfoy came forward to greet him. "Jerry, is that really you? Your... your hair..."

"Good evening, Draco!"

Seeing Jerry's dark new look, Malfoy remembered what had happened on the Hogwarts Express. He swallowed. "Good evening!"

"Jerry, where have you been these past few days? I haven't seen you around. And, well... I had a little run-in with Miss Granger and her friends a few days ago."

"But don't worry, Jerry. It really was just a tiny disagreement!"

Malfoy was afraid Hermione would complain to Jerry about him! After all, Jerry was... well, he was ruthless, and his Wand hit hard!

Jerry looked at Malfoy, who seemed a little afraid of him, and patted his shoulder. "I won't get involved in what goes on between you and Harry. You're both my friends, aren't you?"

Malfoy let out a long breath of relief and nodded repeatedly. He understood: as long as he didn't give Granger trouble, Jerry wouldn't interfere.

Jerry glanced around at the small fry in the Common Room. There were far fewer hostile looks than before, and a few of the girls were even gazing at him with unmistakable interest. What had happened on the Hogwarts Express had clearly left an impression.

Not bad. The Slytherins had at least one redeeming quality: they knew when to bow before someone stronger.

Back in his Dormitory, Jerry
