By the time Jerry entered the Great Hall, students from every house had taken their seats.
The hall was decked out in Slytherin green and silver, celebrating the house's seven straight years of winning the House Cup.
Behind the professors' table, a huge banner hung on the wall. It bore the Slytherin Crest, proudly displaying the house's glory for all to see.

Before the feast began, Dumbledore tapped his goblet with a spoon. Ding! Ding! Ding! The sound called for silence.
A moment later, the clamor in the Great Hall died down.
"How quickly time passes! Another school year has gone by!" Dumbledore announced cheerfully from the front. "Before you enjoy this wonderful food, I'm afraid I must ask you to listen to an old man ramble for a few moments."
