Stett Manor covered seventy-five hectares and lay thirty-five kilometers from Paris, far from the clamor of the city. Rolling hills and shimmering lakes surrounded it.
At summer dusk, the setting sun turned the lake into a golden mirror that reflected the Manor's magnificent silhouette.
With a whoosh, a figure carrying a suitcase appeared at the Manor's entrance. It was Jerry.
After seeing Hermione onto the Hogwarts Express that morning and giving Catherine a few instructions, Jerry had packed his luggage, gripped the Portkey, and arrived at the gates of an enormous manor.
"Where am I?"
"Welcome, Mr. Green!"
Jerry was still wondering where he was when a voice sounded behind him. He turned and was startled to find an elderly woman standing there.
She wore an emerald-green cloak. Her snow-white hair was swept neatly back, and her expression was stern.
"Who are you?" Jerry asked, staring at the elderly woman who had appeared out of nowhere.
She did not answer immediately. Instead, she fixed Jerry with a penetrating gaze.
After a long pause, she spoke, her voice carrying an authority that brooked no argument. "I serve Lord Grindelwald. My name is Vinda Rosier. You may call me Madam Rosier. Come inside with me first."
Jerry followed Rosier into the Manor. The first thing he saw was a broad lawn, trimmed so neatly it looked like a green carpet spread beneath their feet.
They walked along a stone path lined with dense plane trees. Their branches intertwined overhead, forming a cool shelter from the sun.
The Manor's buildings were classically French. White walls, intricate reliefs, and gold detailing all spoke of aristocratic splendor.
The main building's great hall was more lavish still. Elaborate patterns covered the soaring ceiling, and a huge crystal chandelier glittered above exquisite murals and antique furniture.
