The moonlit night was soft as silk, the wind played like a harp, and stars glittered in the boundless dark.

In a luxurious room at Stett Manor, Jerry sat at a table reading letters from Hermione and Pheobe.

By the window, Tom widened his eyes and let out a "Caw! Caw!" at an owl enjoying some nuts.

He glanced at Jerry, who was busy reading, and once he was sure Jerry wasn't watching, he rammed the owl aside with his plump body and greedily dug into the tasty nuts in its bowl.

Oh, stolen food tasted so much better!

Tom was rude and overbearing, and he clearly thought nothing of the owl. He chewed the nuts while giving it a provocative look, as though showing off his victory.

"Tom, you've already had dinner!"

Jerry had noticed the commotion by the window long ago. He got up, grabbed Tom by a leg, and carried him upside down to the table.

He picked up an envelope and handed it to Tom. "Take this letter to Hermione."

"Stop dawdling. You're a magical creature. What are you afraid of? Britain isn't that far from France, and you could stand to lose a little more weight."

"Cawww!" Tom's cry was especially loud. His clever little eyes fixed on Jerry, making his displeasure plain.

Tom: What are you doing? Hey!

Seeing that Jerry wasn't joking, Tom reluctantly took the envelope in his beak and prepared to fly to Britain.

The owl by the window saw this and shook its head at Tom in a taunt.

Tom wasn't about to let that pass. Before leaving, he sat on the owl and flattened it, then leisurely got up and flew off into the distance.
