"Madam Rosier, could you spare a moment? I have something to ask you."

In the corridor of the Manor mansion, Jerry stopped Rosier and asked him.

"What is it, Mr. Green?"

"Is Vincent Martin still alive?"

Before Summer Vacation, Jerry had gotten Forbidden Alchemy from Dumbledore. He had recently taken a closer look, and good grief, every page had left him speechless.

No wonder Dumbledore had been so cautious with the book. He had repeatedly warned Jerry before handing it over.

Jerry had searched it from cover to cover without finding the author's name, but he was certain whoever wrote it was deranged. Toward the end, it even described transplanting the magical organs of Fantastic Beasts into wizards!

It certainly lived up to "Forbidden." The whole book was packed with horrifying experiments.

Now Jerry needed a test subject. After giving it some thought, he decided Vincent Martin would do nicely. No sense letting him go to waste!

"Of course he's alive. The Pure-Blood Party wouldn't let a traitor die that easily! Why do you want him, Mr. Green?"

"Could you lend him to me for a while? There's something I need his help with."

Rosier was surprised. She couldn't imagine what Jerry wanted with the traitor, but she was sure nothing good awaited him in Jerry's hands.

So Rosier nodded and agreed.

"Thank you so much! Sorry for the trouble. Just have him brought to the Alchemy Room!"

I thought so, Rosier thought. "Understood, Mr. Green. I'll have someone take him there."

The next morning, before the first sunlight had fully dispelled the stillness of night, the Manor was already stirring.

Rosier had told Jerry the night before that Vincent Martin was ready for him, so Jerry hurried to the Alchemy Room first thing in the morning.
