Uchiha Yi looked at Shimura Danzō with utter contempt. "I never expected that someone who constantly claims to act for Konoha would secretly keep selling it out. Its defense plans, the locations of its Barriers, all kinds of information—you used your former subordinates to leak it from the inside."
Shimura Danzō still had many subordinates. As for the Shimura Clan, Uchiha Yi had gone relatively easy on them because Hiruzen Sarutobi had pleaded on their behalf.
After all, the Sarutobi Clan and the Shimura Clan had been on good terms since the Warring States Period. Hiruzen Sarutobi and Shimura Danzō had known each other since then.
Neither clan should be underestimated. Even Madara Uchiha had acknowledged them. During the Warring States Period, they had been major clans second only to the Uchiha Clan and the Senju Clan, in no way inferior to the Hyuga Clan.
The Sarutobi Clan also had Ino-Shika-Cho under its wing. Even in the Warring States Period, Ino-Shika-Cho had relied on the Sarutobi Clan to serve as witnesses.
Hiruzen Sarutobi's father, Sarutobi Sasuke, had been one of Konoha's five most important figures when the village was first founded.

Being Hokage was not just about fighting and killing. Relationships mattered too.
Uchiha Yi had chosen to do Hiruzen Sarutobi a favor. Hiruzen had cooperated when Yi became Hokage and supported his reforms. He had even volunteered to take the blame for some of their less popular measures.
As Hiruzen Sarutobi put it, the Hokage ought to have a noble, upstanding image. The people beneath him should bear the stain of anything unsavory.
Uchiha Yi had not chosen anyone to take over Shimura Danzō's former duties, so the people below him could share
