After losing the Nine-Tails, Naruto still seemed less than proficient with Sage Mode and needed time to prepare before entering it. Perhaps that was simply how Mount Myōboku's Sage Mode worked.
To enter Sage Mode, Kabuto had put himself through so much that he ended up looking neither human nor monster.
Hashirama Senju's Sage Mode seemed to be the best. He could enter it instantly, and his appearance barely changed.
That made Uchiha Yi even more interested in Shikkotsu Forest's Sage Mode.
"Absorb my blood? Will you need a lot?" Uchiha Yi frowned. If training in Sage Mode meant constantly losing huge amounts of blood, he might as well not learn it.
Uchiha Yi strongly suspected that absorbing his blood would help Katsuyu grow stronger.
Of course, she was teaching him Sage Mode, helping him improve his strength, and could even help him fight when needed. Wasn't it perfectly reasonable for her to gain something in return?
Only mutual benefit could make their relationship last. Surely Uchiha Yi couldn't keep benefiting from Katsuyu without giving anything himself?
