Background / History

Yan is a transmigrator reborn into the Uchiha clan. After his parents’ deaths, his older cousin Mikoto and her husband, Fugaku, raise him. He trains obsessively because he expects future threats to the clan and his family. His hidden True Immersion System awards Gold Coins for daily training and qualifying battles; he spends them on skill draws and upgrades 1 2.

At the Ninja Academy, Yan defeats Kakashi and turns fights with classmates into demanding group training. He founds the Night Organization to organize that training, later using the system’s Raid module to place its members in a shared, injury-free combat illusion 3 10 12 28 30.

Yan also founds the Heavenly Eye Society. With Konoha’s funding and review of its news coverage, it publishes the Shinobi World Daily and Playboy Ninja. He uses the publications to earn money, influence public opinion and improve the Uchiha’s standing in the village 18 19.

After becoming Orochimaru’s student, Yan investigates Uchiha history with him and joins the Third Shinobi World War. His battlefield record earns him the name Red Blade. He later supports a supervised Wood Release research proposal, persuading the Uchiha clan to cooperate in exchange for agreed terms with Konoha 15 26 35 40 42.

Appearance

Yan has black hair. He is five at his first appearance and seven when he publicly displays his Three-Tomoe Sharingan 1 42.

Personality

Yan mixes jokes, pranks and provocation with careful planning. He seeks system rewards from strong opponents, but also identifies his classmates’ weaknesses and invests in their training 2 10 13. He guards information about his abilities and uses disguises, genjutsu and publishing when open force would not serve his aims 8 15 18 48.

His protectiveness has a harsh edge. He risks himself for Anko and worries about Mikoto and the Uchiha’s future, yet deliberately traumatizes Obito in an illusion to awaken his Sharingan. Yan describes his ninja way as stopping wrongs he can reach and protecting those he cherishes 5 6 7 26.

Sharingan and genjutsu

• Uses the Sharingan to counter an attacker’s genjutsu, interrogate captives and turn enemies against one another 14 34 50.

• Substitution — replaces himself without hand seals and appears behind an attacker; A eventually learns to anticipate where he will appear 1 38.
• Counterattack and Dodge — reward precisely timed defense or evasion with temporary attribute boosts 2 31.
• Aura Suppression and Counterattack Field — slow hostile people and attacks within a one-meter aura; the synthesized field strengthens Counterattack triggers and enables a tracking Grab 31 46.
• Invincibility Frames and Heartbeat Timeout — respectively protect one chosen moving attack action and provide an automatic, once-daily revival, limited to three uses 31 50.

Ninjutsu and swordsmanship

• Uses powerful Fire Release, Shadow Clones, Rasengan and Chidori in combat 5 10 14 15 30 50.
• Combines Crimson Sky, chakra-enhanced swordsmanship and short bursts from the Eight Gates. The latter can overwhelm an opponent but rapidly exhausts him 26 29 38.

Training and tactics

• Tailors exercises to Night members and uses simulated raids to teach cooperation without carrying injuries into reality 13 28 30.
• Coordinates feints, restraints and combined elemental attacks; the Night members defeat their simulated Zabuza through a team plan Yan calls “Tactic A” 30.
