"Trying to provoke me again?" Akes looked unruffled. Before, those words would have struck a nerve and forced her to fight back. It wasn't that she didn't want to break off the engagement; her family simply refused to give her a choice. Herman kept using it to goad her, hoping she would do something even more extreme. But now that she saw things from another angle, she realized Herman might be the one in a hurry. "Young Master Herman, do you really think I care that much about becoming heir?"
