Ye Chuqi clicked her tongue. Did he think a random teleport would let him escape? That was far too naive. This sort of randomly triggered teleportation had limited effectiveness. At the very least, it would not take him very far—not so far that even Big Black Fish could not track him down.

"Big Black, I'll leave him to you."

Big Black Fish let out a cry, tore open space, and chased after Hake's fading afterimage.

Then Ye Chuqi turned around and saw Liao Leaf Town's guards lined up in neat ranks, watching her as though facing a formidable enemy.

Ye Chuqi had already caught the guards' attention while lingering at the Altar. Ever since the incident there, Liao Leaf Town had greatly strengthened its covert security. She had appeared on the Altar twice, doing who knew what, so naturally they had started watching her.

Then the guards had watched Ye Chuqi suddenly attack. Only then did they discover that someone else had been hiding nearby—and that Ye Chuqi had cleaved him in two. There also seemed to have been the silhouette of an enormous black Demon Beast, appearing and disappearing in an instant.

It was like watching an illusion unfold; they had no idea what they had actually seen. Then, when Ye Chuqi turned around, her pretty little face dealt them a final critical hit. The guards all but froze on the spot, completely forgetting what they had come to do—

Ye Chuqi was also considering how she ought to explain herself.

"You are...?" The guard captain finally recovered his senses. Looking at Ye Chuqi, he felt he ought to know who she was.

"Ye Chuqi."

That name was familiar to practically everyone.

"What brings you to the Altar, Miss Ye?" The captain stepped forward. "Do you need our assistance?"
