Dunstan soon understood why Ye Chuqi had asked him if he was afraid of heights.
After Ye Chuqi put away the Magic Tent, Dunstan still felt as though he hadn't fully recovered his strength. But the enormous Demon Beast beside him had already carried her soaring into the sky, seemingly leaving him alone in the vast snowstorm. It was a particularly bleak and miserable sight. Then a Griffin swooped down and seized him in its talons.

Ye Chuqi smiled and took down the Formation. Snow swallowed the spot where they had just stopped. Xiao Bu spiraled into the sky, and Dunstan's scream abruptly cut off.
Xiao Bu didn't like carrying other people on its back, but its talons didn't mind holding one more thing. As long as they weren't attacked along the way and Xiao Bu didn't get distracted and forget there was a person in its claws, Dunstan would be fine. Ye Chuqi's Spiritual Power shield kept the snowstorm from threatening him for now.
By the time Ye Chuqi and Xiao Bu stopped to rest again, Dunstan's face, which had never recovered its color, looked much like a dead man's. Xiao Bu dropped him into the snow, rubbed against Ye Chuqi, then raised its wings to shield her from the wind and snow.
Dunstan, of course, was none of Xiao Bu's concern.
The snow was deep here, and Dunstan was hard to kill. A fall like that wouldn't finish him off.
The fall hadn't killed him, but Dunstan felt as if his already unsteady soul had been left in the snowdrift that buried him. After spending the whole journey in Xiao Bu's talons, it probably wasn't coming back.
