"Senior Brother Xiang!" Seeing that Xiang Rongxi's attention was entirely on Qiao Ranran, Jiang Miaomiao grew upset. "She was bullying me with Yan Qingsui just now!"

Pei Ling, meanwhile, gazed at Xiang Rongxi and sank into thought. He knew this man. He had killed plenty of people, too many to remember them all, but this one left an impression. Xiang Rongxi seemed to have died by his hand as well. Pei Ling could no longer recall what had been special about him.
Not that it mattered. If necessary, he could simply kill him again.
Xiang Rongxi felt uncomfortable under Pei Ling's gaze. The deep malice in it made him feel as though something terrifying had locked on to him. But when he looked again, the boy—whose beauty far surpassed even his own, much as he hated to admit it—had a cool gaze and gentle, docile features. It was as if Xiang Rongxi had imagined the whole thing.
"Senior Brother Xiang!" His distraction displeased Jiang Miaomiao. As far as she was concerned, he ought to be wholly on her side, teaching Yan Qingsui a lesson instead of exchanging pleasantries with them. "Did you hear what she said? She wants to bully me right in front of you!"
Jiang Miaomiao pointed at Qiao Ranran, but Qiao Ranran had no desire to stand there being pointed at. She turned and walked away. "Didn't you say West Street was lively? It won't be any fun if we get there too late."
