December arrived quickly, and the holidays were just around the corner.
Idataqi brought Kyle a letter from France. It was from Grindelwald.
Grindelwald told him to return to France and spend the holidays with him.
Yet just last night, Dumbledore had come to see him and dropped all sorts of hints, wanting Kyle to stay at Hogwarts and spend the holidays with the old man.
All Kyle could say was that the two husbands really were in sync.
He could understand why neither of those proud old men wanted to see the other.
But understanding was one thing. It did not mean he would support those two old geezers with his actions.
Why did he have to choose between Britain and France?
Only children made choices. Kyle decided he would drag Dumbledore back to France for the holidays and see if he could help the two old men repair their relationship while he was at it.
Their combined ages might have added up to twenty of his, but that did not mean they could not enjoy a second spring, right?
"Dad, come back to France with me."
Kyle rested his chin on Dumbledore's desk and gazed pleadingly at the old man in front of him.
"No." Dumbledore did not even look up as he ate his pudding.
Kyle stared at him with the eyes he had inherited from Grindelwald.

"Let's go to France!" Kyle kept slapping the desk with both hands. "Don't you want the whole family to celebrate the holidays together?"
At the mention of the whole family being reunited, a trace of hesitation appeared on Dumbledore's face.
Kyle's sharp eyes caught it, and he immediately pressed his advantage.
"We can eat turkey with Dad Grindelwald! We can decorate the tree together!"
