Masira's crew had already begun the salvage. They lowered grappling hooks from both sides of the ship, and several sailors jumped into the water to fasten them to the wreck.
Once the sailors resurfaced, Masira lowered the monkey figurehead at the bow into the sea. The monkey held more than cymbals; it was also a device for pumping air.
Masira jumped onto the gunwale and shouted, "Good! Start blowing!"
Nami stared in shock. "No way. Is he going to blow air down there and make the ship float?"
No one answered Nami, but Masira soon did exactly that. He drew a huge breath, and his belly visibly swelled.
When the ropes attached to the grappling hooks went slack, the sailors knew the wreck had gained buoyancy. They hurried to turn the winches and haul it up.
Just as it looked like raising the wreck was only a matter of time, a sailor burst through the surface. "Captain! There's a Sea King down there! One of our crew is hurt!"
Rubick called out, "Sanji."
Sanji nodded. "Yeah. We're running low on food anyway. One Sea King should feed us for a few days."
Sanji took off his shoes and jacket and jumped into the sea. He kicked hard through the water, rapidly closing in on the eel-like Sea King. With a single strike, he knocked it unconscious.
Sanji hoisted the Sea King onto his shoulder and was about to surface when his eyes went wide. In the distance, an unimaginably huge sea turtle was swimming toward them. At that size, perhaps only Laboon at Twin Cape could rival it.
Even the Sea King on Sanji's shoulder would be no more than a noodle in the Giant Sea Turtle's mouth—not enough for a single slurp.
Sanji dropped the Sea King and hurried
