Across Wano Country, pirates attacked and plundered coastal villages and towns in Kuri, Ringo, Hakumai, and Kibi.
"Rampaging Bear" Morant and "Demolitionist" Wendigo each led a pirate force toward Kuri and Hakumai.
Kuri had been developed only recently, and its heartland lay in the north, around Oden Castle.
Only a handful of Samurai guarded the south, watching the coast for pirates crossing the sea.
With no powerful fighters among them, they had no hope of stopping a monster like "Rampaging Bear" Morant.
Southern Kuri fell in no time. The Kurozumi Clan took control of its villages and towns, then sent troops to establish defensive lines.
Hakumai was even more important.
It had Jinbu Port.
It also had a secret harbor.
That harbor connected to the waters around Wano Country's waterfalls. A hidden passage led straight to the sea, bypassing the falls entirely.
Taking the waterfalls was dangerous. One wrong move against a jutting rock face could wreck a ship and kill everyone aboard.
The secret harbor was far more convenient.
It would save a great deal in transport costs.
Its mechanisms had not been used in ages and needed repairs, but that was no problem for the Kurozumi Clan.
