G-4 Fortress.

As a vital trade island guarded by a former Marine Admiral, G-4 Fortress had more than ten thousand troops.

Navy Warships patrolled the waters around the trade island without pause.

Whenever they spotted a pirate crew, they used overwhelming firepower to drive it away or send it to the bottom of the sea.

But the pirates were no pushovers either.

G-4 Fortress might have been impregnable.

Yet its links to the other Marine Branches had been severed by tacit agreement.

The less heavily defended Marine Branches became their targets, and Merchant Ships docked there too.

It was an open challenge. To counter it, the Navy would have to crush the pirates with absolute force.

And that was exactly what the Navy did.

Faced with the threat of Typhon and several other Great Pirates, the Navy did not deploy its Vice Admirals or anyone stronger lightly.

Its Commodores and Rear Admirals, meanwhile, fought pirates on every front.

Ordinarily, Sengoku and Garp would have used the Navy's intelligence advantage to strike at the most dangerous Great Pirates first.

But under the pressure Typhon posed, they did not dare act rashly.

Garp and Sengoku knew how terrifying Charlotte Linlin had been in her youth.

They also knew how strong Charlotte Linlin had been at eighteen.

Against that sheer strength and physical toughness, even Vice Admiral-level fighters had been utterly outmatched.

Among the Navy's forces in the New World, only Garp, Sengoku, and Zhikai could take him on.

And perhaps only Garp and Sengoku could overpower him.

That was the Navy's estimate of the strength Typhon might possess.

Many Navy Soldiers kept scanning the sky through binoculars. They knew the enemy would come from above.

Yet a vast bank of white clouds had appeared in the sky without any of them noticing.
