The Shimura residence, basement.
The oil lamp's flame flickered.
Shimura Danzo sat in the shadows, leaning on his cane.
"An explanation? They all want an explanation from me?"
"Did I do any of those things for myself? Wasn't it all for Konoha?"
"And now that something's gone wrong, they blame it all on me."
"If they're going to push me this hard, I can't wait any longer."
He hadn't planned to act so soon.
Every time an Uchiha used the Mangekyō Sharingan, it consumed some of their eye power.
That brat Uchiha En had used his abilities again and again. His vision would only worsen. Once he went blind, dealing with him would be foolproof.
But Danzo couldn't wait now.
From the Clan Massacre Night until now, he had seen it clearly: Konoha's greatest wild card was Uchiha En.
Without that brat, the Uchiha Clan would have been crippled, if not wiped out. The Hyuga wouldn't have switched sides, and the village wouldn't have strayed further off course with every step.
Then there was Tobi.
The Daimyo wanted an explanation, and Danzo couldn't give him one. But what if he pinned Tobi's identity on the Uchiha Clan?
The culprit would be an Uchiha who had fled to escape punishment and been executed by Konoha. The Daimyo would have his answer, someone would take the blame, and the village would have peace.
First, though, he had to get rid of Uchiha En.
More precisely, he had to bring him under control.
Kotoamatsukami could rewrite a person's will. Danzo could make him kneel, kill himself, or publicly confess to Tobi's crimes, and he would obey.
Danzo narrowed his eye and called out, "Someone."
A dark figure landed before him.
"Go. Put on an Anbu uniform and invite Uchiha En to Training Ground
