Background and History

En was born into the Uchiha Clan and became a Genin in the same year as Itachi. When his parents died on a mission, memories of a previous life—as an office worker who died from overwork—returned to him at age ten. Knowing the Uchiha massacre was approaching, he feared for his survival 1.

After he rescued a young Hinata Hyuga from bullies, a system rewarded him with the Mangekyō Sharingan. He kept its powers secret to preserve his eyesight. On the night of the massacre, he incapacitated Sasuke, sent a disguised Shadow Clone to impersonate him, and moved the real boy into another home. En intended for Itachi to kill Sasuke without recognizing him 1.

Disguised in an Akatsuki cloak and Tiger-Skin Mask, En attacked the Shimura and Sarutobi compounds. He also killed five Root shinobi maintaining a soundproof barrier around the Uchiha compound, allowing the massacre's sounds to spread beyond it. Afterward, he collected Sharingan from the dead before presenting himself publicly as a grieving survivor 2 3 5 6 11.

En is a black-haired boy described as looking twelve or thirteen when Sasuke encounters him. His ordinary clan dress contrasts with the disguise he uses during the massacre 1 2.
