With that, Thanos endured the lightning Tony unleashed and, despite the searing pain, brought his blade down with all his strength on Tony's left shoulder.

Clang! The outer layer of nanotech armor shattered instantly. The sharp blade sank deep into flesh. Against an ordinary human body, that strike would have taken off half Tony's shoulder.

But the expected spray of blood and flesh never came. Once the blade had sunk in, powerful resistance from Tony's body trapped it fast. Thanos could not cut even a fraction deeper.
