The days that followed passed in steady progress.

Under these circumstances, the Life Alliance discovered that the succession of anti-emigration acts it had signed were utterly useless.

Even more laughably, their Westward Movement was entirely legal.
All of it rested on the Western Diamond Act the Alliance had previously signed.
