Facing Dragonite-Defeat?

Shiny Cubone closed in, deftly swinging the bone club in hand. Two balls of flame hovered above it, looking incredibly cool.

"Cubone, Cubone!"

Extreme Speed.

Dragonite, who had been dozens of meters away, appeared before Cubone in an instant.

A chubby fist struck down with speed, precision, and force!

That mustn't connect. With a physical attack stat of 400, Cubone couldn't take it.

Confusion!

The fist paused in midair, allowing Cubone to evade it perfectly.

Metang had intervened. Although the pause lasted only a breath, it was enough for Cubone to dodge.

After all, Cubone had combat awareness and formidable instincts.

Even while dodging, Cubone didn't give up. Turning back, Cubone lashed out with the bone club.

Knock Off.

The simple attack tore through the surging air with unstoppable momentum.

Slam.

With blinding speed, Dragonite grabbed the bone club and flipped Cubone over backward, sending Cubone flying.

Ding! Giant Dragonite used Slam on Shiny Cubone. The effect was significant.

Boom!

Giant Dragonite had been about to continue attacking when both hands suddenly burst into flame.

This was Phanpy's Armor-Breaking Fire, a flame that ignored everything. Even a Legendary Pokémon would have to endure it.

"Flames that never go out?"

"Looks like you're trouble. I'll have to deal with you first!"

Extreme Speed.

A distance of dozens of meters was nothing more than the blink of an eye.

But as Dragonite approached, the surrounding ground began to soften, sand and mud flowing together.

Sand Tomb.

Dragon Claw!

Gabite didn't hesitate. This Sand Tomb had been prepared in advance, waiting for Dragonite.

Both claws lengthened and shone silver as Gabite rushed in to attack.

Earthquake.

Onix immediately unleashed Earthquake, making the ground in that area sink and heave to restrict Dragonite's movements.

Clang!

Dragonite blocked Dragon Claw. Dragonite knew the move too.

Violet Aurora.

Purple light enveloped Gabite's entire body, instantly strengthening Dragon Claw.

Yet only a Dragon Claw strengthened to this level could contend with Dragonite. Even with suppressed power, Dragonite remained terrifying.

Metal Claw.

Metang joined the battle, extending enormous steel claws and striking straight down.

Dragonite's little wings began to attack. A Hurricane swept out, forming one Twister after another to disrupt Metang.

One Pokémon could handle so many opponents at once. It was far too powerful.

Having finished using Focus Energy, Raticate began to attack.

Hyper Fang.

A silver sheen appeared over Raticate's teeth, making them look immensely threatening.

Leer!

Dragonite's eyes widened. An overwhelming, intimidating force pinned Raticate in place, slowing its movements.

Onix swung a tail over, landing a solid hit on Dragonite.

But it didn't do much damage.

Phanpy attacked alongside Onix, firing multiple streams of flame, while Rapidash turned entirely into fire and charged.

A sea of flames spread, with almost every attack converging on Dragonite.

"Cubone, Cubone!"

Cubone hadn't fallen. Despite the many wounds, Cubone still picked up the bone club to attack.

The Boomerang flew out with tremendous force, heading straight for Dragonite.

Boom!

Several attacks exploded at once, not only hitting Dragonite but also forcing all the Pokémon to scatter.

The deafening explosion left the challengers below intensely curious.

"What's happening up there? A Pokémon battle?"

"It sounds intense. Let's hurry and get out of these traps so we can go take a look."

"I can even sense several different presences. This should be worth watching."

Flashes of light flickered atop the tower, drawing repeated gasps of amazement from the people outside the lighthouse.

The battle seemed extremely fierce.

One of the Lighthouse Guardians murmured, "This is the first time I've seen a battle on this scale. It's really intense."

"Looks like this trial is a serious test."

As the smoke dispersed, wounds of varying severity appeared across Dragonite's body.

Clearly, that round of attacks had worked.

Before Dragonite could speak, a strange force descended.

Dragonite's entire body froze. Only upon looking closely did it become clear that Ninetales, who had yet to make a serious move, had attacked.

Spite.

This was a Ghost-type attack. Although its effect was weaker when Ninetales used it, it still worked.

It should have caused dizziness, but Dragonite's resistance was too high for that effect to take hold.

Still, immobilization was enough.

"Attack again!"

Liu Xin and Ito Hei shouted at the same time, launching their second wave of attacks—and their last.

Gabite led the charge, unleashing Dragon Breath.

A terrifying Dragon Cry spearheaded the assault, charging straight toward Dragonite with unstoppable force.

Flash Cannon!

As though forming a Rasengan, Metang condensed a terrifying spherical blast.

Energy radiated outward continuously as its power slowly climbed.

Crackling currents flickered inside it, making it look anything but ordinary.

After charging for barely five seconds, Metang fired it with tremendous force, right behind Dragon Breath.

Flame Charge!

Flames enveloped Rapidash and Ninetales at the same time. Searing heat rose, and in the next instant, the fire engulfed them completely.

As the two blazed fiercely, their speed kept increasing, and their attack power surged along with it.

Without hesitation, they rushed forward at incredible speed.

Meanwhile, Phanpy fused flames with Ground Spike, sending blazing spikes erupting wildly from the ground beneath Dragonite.

Armor-Breaking Fire mercilessly ate away at Dragonite, coiling around the entire body and inflicting severe burn damage.

Onix unleashed Rock Slide, and countless rocks began to assail Dragonite.

Raticate recovered and attacked with Hyper Fang once again.

Numerous attacks burst forth simultaneously, their momentum tremendous and their power astonishing.

As the bone club came flying back toward Cubone, Cubone caught it and spun around, using the force of the turn and the club's rotation to strengthen the Boomerang attack.

The strengthened bone club hurtled out alongside the other attacks.

Eight attacks struck Dragonite at once, while Dragonite had no way to defend or retaliate.

Dragonite had been careless and failed to dodge this wave.

The moment Spite landed, Dragonite had been destined to suffer a major setback.

Boom!

The thunderous blast sent waves of air rolling outward.

The force swept over Liu Xin and Ito Hei, leaving them unable to open their eyes.

What was the outcome?

Neither knew. Only Liu Xin kept hearing the system's notifications in his mind.

Ding!

Ding!

Ding!

Clearly, the attacks had been highly effective against Dragonite. But a second later, they could no longer smile.

The dust and smoke instantly dispersed. Dragonite's little wings began to flap, and a faint defensive layer covered the body.

It actually blocked them!?

Hurricane!

It was Dragonite's turn to retaliate, rapidly beating those wings in combination with tremendous speed.

The storm swept across the entire tower roof, its merciless assault engulfing every Pokémon.

Screams and cries of pain rang out without end.

Ito Hei and Liu Xin looked grim, but there was nothing they could do.

"You can hold on!"

"Dragonite is already at the end of its rope. As long as you withstand the Hurricane, you can win!"

Their fists clenched tightly, their hearts taut with anxiety.

Liu Xin and Ito Hei prayed silently until the Hurricane finally subsided.

Every Pokémon had fallen. Not one remained standing!

They had lost!
