Cynthia was ready. Xu Mu was ready too.
But the elevator doors had picked the worst possible moment to open!
"It's fine. We can do it when we get back. Let's battle first."
Xu Mu tried to keep his expression calm. Taking Cynthia's hand, he led her past the male and female attendants waiting outside the elevator.
Cynthia's face turned bright red. Unlike Xu Mu, she wasn't nearly so shameless; she couldn't even bring herself to look up.
She followed him all the way to the Battlefield with her head down.
"Mr. Xu Mu, my wife and I have worked here for many years. It's an honor to meet you today. We hope you'll give us the chance to learn from you."
The male attendant spoke as he shook Xu Mu's hand warmly.
He continued, "Our rules are two against two. My wife and I will face you both in a Double Battle, with each of us limited to one Pokémon."
Xu Mu looked at Cynthia. She nodded her agreement.
"All right. Shall we start?"
"Please wait a moment while we prepare the field."
The male attendant snapped his fingers, and a tremendous rumble echoed through the 110th floor.
In just thirty seconds, a brand-new Battlefield appeared where Xu Mu had been standing!
Was this the power of technology?
Creating something out of nothing?
Xu Mu pressed a foot against the soft, springy surface and couldn't help marveling at it. This place was high-end. What a brilliant design!
"Mr. Xu Mu, let's begin!"
"This is only a small match, so please go easy on us."
The attendant was polite, but his meaning was clear. Impressive as the place looked, they were still more than a hundred floors up!
It would be best not to use any overly powerful moves here.
