After Xu Mu and Cynthia defeated the couple who had greeted them, the couple recalled their Pokémon.
They stepped aside respectfully, and one of them opened the elevator door for Xu Mu.
Above them lay the highest point in all of Magic City!
From the top of the tower, visitors could see the entire city. It was a must-visit spot for tourists.
"Thanks for the effort."
Xu Mu smiled politely and took Cynthia's hand. They recalled their Pokémon and stepped into the elevator together.
When they reached the top, the couple took the hint and did not follow. Instead, they rode the elevator back down to the 110th floor.
Xu Mu gazed at the endless white clouds and the clear blue sky.
He slowly closed his eyes, enjoying the cool breeze against his ears.
"It's only when you stand up high that you realize how small you are."
He spoke softly, giving voice to what he truly felt.
Cynthia let go of his hand, spread her arms, then stood behind him and wrapped them around his waist.
"Mm!"
She offered no elaborate agreement, no poetic reflection.
Cynthia simply nodded with complete sincerity.
It was exactly how she felt.
"Do you think we'll stand at the top of another city someday, enjoying the breeze and looking out over everything like this?"
Something had come to Cynthia's mind, and she suddenly put the question to Xu Mu.
Xu Mu tipped his head back and let her hold him from behind.
He placed both hands over hers where they rested against his waist.
"Of course!"
"We're going to travel the whole world together. Maybe even more than one world!"
"And then we can have lots of children and raise them to work toward whatever they love."
