The Rasengan-style Aura Sphere was a move Lucario had spent ages learning from Greninja.
By using the centripetal force of its spin, he multiplied Aura Sphere's power several times over. It was practically cheating!
Unfortunately, Charizard didn't know that.

When Alain saw his opponent use Aura Sphere, this was what he thought:
Charizard was a Flying type, so a Fighting-type move should deal half damage. Besides, the battle had just begun. They were still feeling each other out.

Hoping to finish the battle in one blow, Alain decided to have Charizard use Dragon Dance.
He would power up, then knock out his opponent with a single move. That ought to impress Xu Mu.
Maybe it would change Xu Mu's opinion of him.

Alain stared, mouth agape. He was stunned!

Seeing how badly things were going, Alain decided to unleash the legendary technique from the Pokémon World: telling his Pokémon to get up!
Sure enough, the technique worked. Charizard obliged by miraculously twitching a finger, then tried to rise unsteadily from the crater.
What a technique!
Under everyone's astonished gaze, Charizard managed it!
He was on his feet!
"Yes! That's it, Charizard!"
Alain shouted in excitement, and Charizard didn't let him down.
The sight left Cynthia baffled. Wasn't that a bit unreasonable?
