Inside the Cave, one and a half of the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path's eyes had opened.

Sealing Shukaku had taken less time than expected, too.

They assumed only half an eye had opened because Shukaku was too weak to open a full one. Only Nagato found it strange.

It felt as though part of Shukaku's Chakra had been stripped away.

But that was just a feeling, and he couldn't tell where the missing Chakra had gone.

"The rest of this trouble is yours to handle!" Pain said. Several projected figures vanished.

"Hand over the Kazekage and Yugito!"

Deidara glanced at the two nearly lifeless bodies on the ground and had an idea.

A Clay Bird appeared in his hand. Carrying the two Jinchūriki, he flew out of the Cave.

"If you want these two back, come and get them!" Deidara taunted as he flew away.

Neji Hyuga's Byakugan clearly picked out the two people on the Bird: the Kazekage and Yugito.

"Guy-sensei! The Kazekage and Yugito might be..."

Neji left the rest unsaid, but his meaning was clear. The Kazekage and Yugito were dead.

"Even if they're dead, we have to bring their bodies back. We can't let anyone else take them!"

"Neji, come with me. We're going after the one on the Bird!"

"Tenten, Lee, those are S-rank Missing-nin. Hold them off until Team Kakashi arrives! We'll take them down here before they can threaten the Shinobi World again!"
