Five Kage Summit

Traveling day and night, the Konoha party finally reached the Land of Iron. Thanks to Naruto, everyone had picked up the pace.

At the entrance to the Land of Iron, several samurai greeted them. "The other four Kage and their attendants have been waiting for the Konoha delegation!"

"Good. We'll go in at once!"

"Only two ninja guards may accompany each Kage into the Five Kage Summit. Lord Hokage, please choose two!"

"Kakashi, Mitsuki, come with me!"

"Naruto and Sakura, stay here!"

"Why?"

Uchiha Itachi smiled but said nothing.

"Ow! That hurts!"

"Because we're afraid you'll act rashly and make Konoha look bad! Wait until the summit is over!" Sakura gave Naruto Uzumaki a sharp rap on the head.

She was anxious too, but she knew what mattered most right now. Unlike Naruto, who couldn't read the situation!

Uchiha Itachi, Kakashi, and Mitsuki followed the samurai into the conference room!

The room was dimly lit, and each Kage's guards stood behind them.

"Long time no see, Itachi!"

"It has been, Gaara!"

"Where's big brother Yoru?"

"At this hour, he's probably still asleep."

"That does sound like him!"

Word had spread that Uchiha Yoru was dead, but who would believe it?

Everyone knew how strong Uchiha Yoru was. None of the Five Kage present was foolish enough to believe that a few so-called Jonin sent by the Daimyo had killed him.

"Everyone, the meeting is about to begin. You can catch up afterward!" said a man with a long mustache and beard, bandages wrapped around his head, and green layered armor that he wore even to the meeting. He was Mifune, general of the Land of Iron.

It was his decisions that had kept the Land of Iron neutral and spared it from every war since the Second Shinobi World War.
