Year 615 of the Saint Laurent Calendar
Breeze City Mage Tower
Hailed as "Breeze City's Guardian Tower" and "the Tower That Would Never Fall," the Breeze City Mage Tower officially opened and invited a group of citizens inside. Meanwhile, at a small tavern on a Street in the outer ring around the tower, Jack and his companions had just won an invitation to the Mage Tower from a Dwarf who was beating his chest in frustration...
"Copperbeard, stop making faces..."
At the Morning Breeze Inn, Annan once again called a halt to the first act's rehearsal.
Every time he called "Action," Soluman Copperbeard's beard moved nonstop, like the bellows in a Blacksmith's shop.
"I wagered my invitation. It's hard to keep my emotions in check during this game," Soluman Copperbeard said. "Dwarves aren't like those expressionless Elves."
"But you're just some 'Dwarf' playing cards with me."
"Dwarves can have character too."
"But then the audience will watch you instead of me."
"What's wrong with that?"
"Because I'm the lead. The audience needs to focus on me... It's like a stage play. Someone playing a tree doesn't need to wave their arms around."
"I've never seen a stage play."
Andrew Luna, who was holding the Recording Magic Stone, could take no more. "It's like smelting. Adding too many precious metals won't make a weapon stronger."
"I get it!" Soluman Copperbeard complained to Annan. "You should've said that sooner."
"Let's try again."
Annan reset the cards he had drawn overnight and laid out on the tavern table, then had Andrew Luna activate the Recording Magic Stone again.
"Why are you staring at the lens... the Magic Stone while you play cards?"
"If you don't watch the billet while you're smelting, do you want to end up with a heap of slag?"
