Just as Biross had mistaken Annan's trip to the Ratfolk Clan for an attempt to save Rus, Rus believed it too. When she had been at her most helpless and desperate, Annan had appeared out of nowhere and saved her from humiliation.

Just then, Annan suddenly lunged at her.
The Incubus came to her senses, caught Annan in her arms, and giggled. "What's the rush? The Demon Den isn't going anywhere."
"Stop saying weird things! I was afraid you might do something rash!"
Annan hurriedly broke free of the Incubus's clutches, backed away, and pressed himself against the wall.
His disguise had been exposed. Even if he screamed himself hoarse now, no one would come to save him.
"You didn't think I was going to kill myself, did you? Stupid Annan Thing, I'm a demon!" Rus scoffed.
"Why don't you say that a little louder so everyone outside can hear?"
"Relax. They wouldn't dare eavesdrop on me." Now certain that Olmedo Just Right was Annan, Rus let her true nature show and tossed him a flirtatious glance. "Annan Thing, what do you want from a demon?"
"You're overthinking it. What could I possibly get from a demon?" Annan could admit who he was, but he absolutely couldn't reveal his purpose.
"If you're not here to pry into anything, then you must be planning to do something to my Lady Biross?"
The Incubus was only joking. She could tell Annan was pursuing Lady Biross merely to play his part. But Annan guiltily looked away.
"What nonsense. What bad intentions could I possibly have?"
Rus stared at Annan, her mouth slowly falling open.
