Annan led Prince Aidan back to his quarters, where he had a direct view of the Obsidian Big House, and spoke smugly.

Prince Aidan had no idea what Annan was so pleased about, but the etiquette drilled into him over the past twenty-odd years kept him from arguing. He wore a polite smile instead.

The sight made Annan blurt out a flirtatious remark without thinking. "Has anyone ever told you that you look a lot like your mother?"
