"Nice speech."
Olmedo had the servants take away the Magic Newspaper and led the Ogre off to eat some freshly delivered Lommy Bee honey. Once the door closed, she said, "But that didn't sound like you."
The speech suited a lord, but it was a little too mature for Annan. Had he grown into a capable lord, or was he planning something...?
"I can't hide anything from you." Annan looked embarrassed. "I couldn't think of a name for the Port..."
"You're a born politician."
"Why are you insulting me?" Annan remembered the unfamiliar term. "What's Lommy Bee honey?"
"Honey made by a bee from the Southlands called the Lommy Bee. It's sweet enough to win over even the pickiest Elves, and expensive enough to frighten off the most generous Giants. Would you like some?"
"Sure. I'll let Della try it."
Poor Della had grown up among the Rat Swarm and been trained as a Spy before being sent into a human city. She had never eaten much good food. Even after regaining her Elven form, she still hadn't escaped that shadow, and had to punish prisoners to relieve her stress...
And there was the Elf Mentor, too... Though honey like this might be commonplace to an Elf who had lived for over a thousand years.
"The Ogre ate it all," Olmedo said calmly.
Annan believed her. "That's a shame."
"Can I make a suggestion about the Magic Newspaper?" Olmedo said she had been reading the first issue in her study a few days ago, but once she activated it, she couldn't turn off the sound. Too frugal to tear it up, she had the servants take it away. Apparently, it hadn't gone quiet until late that night.
"Then I couldn't sell it for ten Copper Coins." Annan spread his hands.
