Origin One was not alone.
As it sailed close to shore, the Guard Captain led the Knights along the coastline in pursuit. At Origin One's speed, it should be nearing Gema's Glacier Harbor by now.
That arrogant fool might lose his head and attack Origin One, but the scouts roaming around Glacier Harbor had found no sign of him. A Druid squad was harassing them, too.
Annan waited in the cabin with the heavy Destrier. Before long, the sound of Faster's boots on the floor drew closer.
"What are you doing here?" Annan was surprised. Lazy Faster had actually taken the initiative to do something.
"You're asking how big the fish I just caught was?"
"I'm asking where Francois is."
"He's seasick. He's thrown up all over the brand-new Origin One. He's lying in the Captain's Quarters now."
"Francois got his bodily fluids everywhere?" The awful thing about the Succubus curse was that it didn't distinguish between targets... It could even make someone say that about an Ogre.
"I mean... how big was the fish?"
"Bigger than any fish I've ever caught!" Fortunately, Faster's attention was entirely on his fish.
"Why don't you bring it over and show me?"
Faster had no reason to refuse. Soon he returned with much heavier footsteps, carrying a fish that could swallow an entire arm.
It weighed at least forty pounds—
"That's a huge fish... Could you bring it a little closer? Closer, just a bit closer..."
The moment Faster stepped through the Portal, Annan snatched the sea fish and shoved him back into the cabin. "I'll contact you tonight. If Francois still can't hold out, bring him back." Then he closed the Portal.
It was Annan's first time doing anything like this, but it had gone remarkably smoothly.
