Pan Long had once gone with his parents to visit his maternal grandfather's family. He had been not yet ten at the time, but as someone who had crossed over into this world, he was not like ordinary children who forgot what had happened when they were little.
To him, it had been a trip seven or eight years ago. It was not so long ago, and the memories remained vivid.
For instance, he clearly remembered that his grandfather's family lived in a county town called Sui Shan County. But his mother was in seclusion, and the family ancestor lived in retirement, at a small estate called Little Zhuang on a mountain more than ten li outside town. Most of the family lived in the county town, yet everyone seemed to consider it an honor to live on the mountain.
That was already enough detail for him to find his grandfather's home.
He asked around in town and learned that there was indeed a Sui Shan County in western Yi Province. It was quite famous, too.
Not far west of Sui Shan County stood Peaceful Peach Mountain, renowned throughout the Qionglai Mountain Range. Legend held that an Immortal had planted peach trees there, and that mortals who ate their fruit would grow strong and healthy and live longer. Other tales spoke of a deathless Immortal on the mountain who could soar through the heavens, burrow through the earth, pass in and out of the azure sky, and live for thousands upon thousands of years.
Since ancient times, people had often gone to Peaceful Peach Mountain seeking immortal fortune. There were plenty of stories about people attaining the Dao and becoming Immortals there, but no particularly reliable examples.
Then, in the early years of Great Xia, an Immortal lost an argument
