Ever since he had gained the ability to store vast quantities of things in the Replica Classic of Mountains and Seas, Pan Long had carried over a thousand pounds of Wine with him.
Northerners had always been fond of drinking. With his cultivation, a comfortable drinking session with friends of comparable strength would take at least a hundred pounds of strong Wine. If they wanted to drink their fill, or even feel a little drunk, ordinary Wine would not be enough. They would need specially brewed Spirit Wine.
Pan Long had Spirit Wine too, of course, but not much—only twenty or thirty pounds.
It was rare, and little of it was produced. Money alone could not buy it. Fan Yan, the young leader of the Green Brother Society, a major Yi Province sect whom Pan Long had met on Peaceful Peach Mountain, had once told him that even an enormous organization like theirs produced only around ten thousand pounds in each annual brewing cycle.
The Green Brother Society was Yi Province's largest Wine merchant. They controlled at least seventy percent of the province's high-end Wine market and boasted that fine Wine came out of their cellars in every season. Even so, most of what they produced was ordinary Wine. In a year, they could brew Spirit Wine only once or twice at most.
Even at the absolute limit of twenty thousand pounds, there was precious little to be found on the market once it was spread across all Yi Province. Most of it was snapped up privately by people with connections.
Brewing Spirit Wine also took skill. Pan Long's teacher, Bi Lingkong, had once organized impoverished people in Yun Province to make Wine from mountain fruit. She knew how to brew it herself and had even brought in master brewers
