Later, that friend taught Gorion some of those Spells from other worlds.

Of all those Spells, Gorion paid particular attention to two.

One Spell came from a fire specialist named Malfoy. It could summon meteor fragments from deep in the heavens. The fragments were not especially powerful, but they carried the power of the stars. Ordinary "magic resistance" and "damage immunity" were no defense against them; even the indestructible body of a true god could be hurt.

The other Spell came from a force-magic specialist named Isaac. It was an upgraded version of Magic Missile, the Spell every mage had to learn as a beginner. It could produce twice, three times, or even four times as many force missiles, each slightly more powerful than before.

At first glance, the two Spells had as much in common as a horse and an ox. But while studying them, Gorion found inspiration and had a marvelous idea.

What if he crushed the meteor fragments summoned by the first Spell even finer, then wrapped them inside the force missiles created by the second? When those missiles struck an enemy, could the power of the stars break through magical defenses or damage immunity and deal a devastating blow to even the mightiest foe?
