A blade flashed, and a shrieking Yute Monster fell to the ground, its purple, poisonous blood spreading everywhere.
These monsters were not very strong, but they ran fast, had sharp claws, and were venomous. They were dangerous to ordinary people. If a village fell into panic, a single Yute Monster could kill everyone in it.
If it completed such a slaughter, the Yute Monster would praise the Demon King amid the pools of blood, then advance into a creature called a Yute Fiend.
It would gain a sturdy carapace that ordinary attacks could barely damage, four arms capable of tearing a cow apart, and jaws powerful enough to crush steel.
It would also become the leader of its kind, gaining a leader's aura that strengthened every Yute Monster around it.
With such a leader, Yute Monsters would fight with tactics. Most commonly, they would work together with spears and throwing javelins, looking every bit like an army.
But for now, at least, Pan Long was not facing an army like that.
A dozen or so Yute Monsters lay scattered around him. These courageous creatures rarely fled, so he had sent the whole lot of them to the same end.
