The deaths of several ultimate beings thousands of years ago had turned this place into a realm of chaos cut off from every other world—the most terrifying, dangerous place in all of space.
Luo Qian had no choice. Since he had decided to accept Qian Tianbo's challenge, he would do as Old Roughworker had said: a man never backed down. A Fighter Jet and a Tactical Vehicle might be enough to defeat Qian Tianbo, but "might" was no guarantee. With three pilots, Luo Qian would be absolutely certain of victory.
For that certainty, Luo Qian was willing to endure the agony of Rebirth once more. Back when he watched movies in the lower realm, he often saw someone declare with great bravado, "I've died once already. What do I have left to fear?" Luo Qian wanted to say, "I've died N times already. Why am I still so scared?"
Standing here again, Luo Qian could think of nothing but the pain of Rebirth. It was not a flash of white light and then everything was fine. That flash stretched on for ten thousand years, with torment like a purgatory furnace.
Since the Golden-Armored Automaton had come from the Primordial Battlefield, there had to be similar puppets somewhere within it. What Luo Qian did not know was that an ancient explosion had hurled that automaton out of the central battlefield and left it at the edge, where the God King had found it. Finding another one would not be nearly so simple.
The memory of his last visit remained painfully clear, and Luo Qian trembled inside. To overcome his fear, he forced himself to think of the Primordial Battlefield's rewards:
