"What is this thing?" Luo Qian wondered, staring at the neither-black-nor-red object in his hand. It was the square object he had grabbed at random before his last Rebirth. Just like drawing a lottery ticket, he had picked the most useless prize. Shaking his head, he helplessly stuffed it into his Storage Space. Whatever it was, he had paid for it with his life.
Not that his life was worth much.
Luo Qian went on searching for the Golden-Armored Automaton, wasting another hour. When the Gray Mist rose again, he stubbornly tried his luck once more, repeating what he had done last time. Near the edge of the mist's reach, almost everything had been half-corroded into scrap. Draw after draw yielded nothing but broken swords, damaged spears, and the like. After three rounds of this, pain wracked his body as though someone had thrown him alive into a boiling pot of meat. From head to toe, inside and out, everything burned.
"This is the last time," Luo Qian resolved. He had searched everywhere nearby that he could reach and still found no trace of the Golden-Armored Automaton. He hated to have suffered so much without gaining a thing, but whenever luck of the draw was involved, his luck was terrible. This time was no different.
He wandered through the Gray Mist's territory for another half hour or more and, as expected, found nothing. Luo Qian gave up. All that remained was to wait for the mist to rise again and send him back through Rebirth. With that thought, he looked toward the strange Deep Well. From this angle, it was even more terrifying.
