When Yog-Sothoth squeezed into the universe from beyond the timeline, from an unknowable realm, it began to unfurl its infinite body. It swelled until it was larger than Blue Star.
From Tokyo to Sydney City, from Big Apple City to Milo City, anyone on half of Blue Star needed only to look up to see purple bubbles filling the sky.
An indescribable dread rose in their hearts, as though humanity had suddenly recovered its sense for danger, lost somewhere along the path of evolution.
Stray cats and dogs curled up in the streets, trembling with fear. Rats poured from their nests in swarms, then lay stiff on the ground.
They sensed the danger, but they could not escape it.
The danger was everywhere.
"Have you notified the presidents of every country?"
Inside the Southern Astronomical Observatory, Gri sat sprawled on the floor, despair written across her face.
As the Astronomical Observatory that had first discovered Ghroth of the Celestial Choir and Yog-Sothoth, the All-in-One, they had kept watch on Yog-Sothoth. Even when everyone else's attention had turned to the Lord of R'lyeh, the Evil God Cthulhu Fhtagn, they had never let down their guard against the All-in-One.
So when the bubbles began to expand and multiply, they spotted it at once. Then despair set in.
Their telescope had shown them that every meteorite in the bubbles' path became part of the purple bubbles the moment it touched them.
It could assimilate matter!
At Yog-Sothoth's current rate of expansion, Blue Star would collide with it in ten minutes at most—and become part of its body.
"I did. But from their tone, I could tell they never want to hear my voice again." Professor Roskin sat sprawled on the floor too, his face full of despair.
They were all about to die.
