As the Eye of Horus opened, Jiang Hao saw a tender shoot sprout where he had been standing.
Emerald light flashed, and Valentin appeared in his place. Dressed in dark green, he wore a stern expression. "Strange. I could have sworn someone was here. Did he leave?"
Sensing the disturbance caused by the teleportation, Count Cains, who had been hanging upside down beneath the eaves, snapped his gaze toward the old man. His mouth opened slightly, and he let out a shrill squeak.
A Werewolf was swinging his claws, ready to swat down a bat, when the sound made him freeze. One bat seized the chance to land on him and bite. He instinctively struck it away with his massive claws, but more bats immediately swarmed in to tear at him.
Valentin glanced at the Werewolf, who was clearly struggling, then raised a hand and pointed. A seed landed on the Werewolf.
The seed sprouted a tender green shoot that pushed the bats off him. Then it trembled, scattering tiny motes of green light over his body.
The Werewolf's wounds slowly healed.
Count Cains watched Valentin warily. "This is a matter between us Dark Species. You're human. You shouldn't interfere."
"I have no interest in the feud between Vampires and Werewolves, but he can't die yet."

Valentin drew a small knife and slashed at the fangs protruding from the Werewolf's mouth.
Both fangs were cut in half.
